Jessica Bineth, a blonde young woman looking at the camera with a small smile and calm demeanour

“I’ve been dabbling with different kinds of meditation for years now, and nothing has stuck. But during my first meeting with Joh something clicked. She’s a brilliant teacher and this is one of the best things I’ve ever done for myself.”

Learn in real life from a trained expert

A man wearing a blue office shirt and black trousers seated with eyes closed on a chair in a subway concourse. He is still as people walk quickly past him. He is very calm and meditative in a busy environment.

Anyone with a smart phone or computer can access an array of online meditation courses. This can be a great first move.

However with Vedic Meditation each step of the process in your training is led by a highly trained expert in person, face to face. This ensures you are correctly using your mantra, or sound, and that your overall technique is properly calibrated to give you optimal results.

Some educational needs can be easily met online. Vedic Meditation is not one of those things. It’s important the mantra is passed on in-person, face-to-face to ensure the subtlety of this highly sensitive sound is correctly transmitted from teacher to student. The nuances of this process cannot be underestimated.

Noel MacDuffie wears a charcoal blazer and green tshirt, smiling at the camera and is happy.

“I’m still meditating twice a day and it’s really helping. I can’t believe in two months it will be a year since I learned! I love the calm brain feeling and it’s made quarantine so much easier to deal with.”

— Noel MacDuffie - Theatre Director

FAQ

My mind is too busy for meditation. Why will this be any different?

Vedic Meditation works with the natural state of the mind without forcing it to change what it is naturally doing. This means there is no effort to stop thinking, nor is there any concentration or controlling thoughts. The busiest of minds can successfully practice this technique.

As well, you are not required to sit still, stop fidgeting, or calm down. This is an easy, effortless practice for everyday people who have busy, stress-filled lives.

Do I have to sit cross-legged on a cushion or wear special clothes?

No, all you need is a chair with back support so you can relax when you close your eyes. And you can wear anything you want. This means you can meditate in places like at home, your office, a train, or a parked car.

How long before I get results?

Most people report feeling calmer and less anxious in the first week they learn to meditate. It’s not unusual within four days of learning meditation to be sleeping better, to be calmer, and to have more energy and clarity. The benefits begin from the first meditation and accumulate over time.

Do you teach online?

The 4-class Vedic Meditation course is taught in person only because this is the most powerful way to experience the instruction. The passing of the mantra from teacher to student is a sensitive process which would be diluted if conducted online.

For the best outcome for the student, Joh Jarvis teaches Vedic Meditation in person.

Why is the course fee more expensive than a drop-in meditation class or an app?

The 4-class Vedic Meditation course is an intensive, comprehensive experience where you enjoy the individual attention of a highly trained expert, who instructs you in the subtleties of using a Vedic mantra and gently corrects your technique.

By the end of the 4-class course you are self sufficient and have a practice for life. With apps and drop-in classes you continue to be dependent on someone to guide you, which is the opposite of self-sufficiency.

If you have questions after sitting the course Joh Jarvis is available with ongoing free support via her weekly Group Meditation classes online or in person. And you can re-sit her course, or the course of one of her accredited colleagues, for free.

To put the course fee in perspective, it is cheaper than the price of a daily cup of coffee for a year.
